About the ELRA Newsletter

ELRA publishes a quarterly newsletter. It includes updates on the association's activities, the latest news in the field of language engineering, the new resources available every quarter, and articles from the different language engineering areas. The overall theme of these articles is the use of language resources (i.e., speech, text, lexica, and terminology databases) for various types of language engineering systems.
These language resource databases are often used for the following types of systems and applications:

• Speech recognition and synthesis
• Machine translation
• Translation memory
• Electronic dictionaries
• Cross-lingual information retrieval
• Search engines
• Topic-detection
• Etc.
