ELDA activities within VCom

Welcome to ELDA, ELRA's Operational Body

Within the VCom, ELDA is involved in the following four main activities: Bug reporting, Validation services, Validation standards, Web site maintenance and information dissemination on behalf of the VCom.
  • Bug reporting:

The ELRA VCom launched the bug report service, which allows users of LRs to report the bugs they may find when using a LR they have purchased from ELDA, simply by completing the bug report form available on the ELRA web site. Currently, this service is available only for Speech LRs and will be extended to Written LRs. ELDA is therefore working as an interface with the customers and providers of LRs, and helps study workable solutions to offer improved/corrected LRs to its customers.

  • Validation services:

In this framework, ELDA works at packaging the LRs to be validated by the Validation centres. ELDA is interacting with the VCom members on the production of validation manuals and quality reports (e.g. Quick Quality Check reports), and is working as an interface with the language resource providers.

  • Validation standards:

Thanks to ELDA involvement in different LR projects, ELDA is promoting the standards that are used in this field. Such experience is exploited within the VCom to implement a non exhaustive information service on validation standards and best practices.

  • Web site maintenance and information dissemination:

ELDA works at setting up and maintaining the Validation of LR section of the ELRA web site. It has also the mission to disseminate information on the VCom activities and results to users and providers of LRs, in particular to support external initiatives in the field of validation activities.
